This young grasshopper seems to be trying to hide from the sun.
It's so hot and dry lately that sunflowers are about the only wild-flowers left and they're getting awfully scraggly.
The farmers have been "making hay while the sun shines" as they say. But look how dry and brown the earth is now. This field won't produce much more this year. I took these just south of Athens yesterday. Click the Sky Watch Friday logo below to see the sky from hundreds of blogger perspectives!

These are just beautiful! Lovely photos. It does look hot and dry in that field, I know how that is-- we're in the midst of a severe drought here as well. Your photos are great!
Brilliant shots! Wonderful!

I love sunflowers against a blue sky always make me think of Vn gogh and Provence, South of France. Classy shots.
Lovely.
Not only are the sunflower and the sky gorgeous in themselves, but I love the interesting perspectives taken of them...and too...the way you framed them. Well done!
Beautiful shots. Very nice SWF series!
